The Conference of European Churches (CEC) will hold a consultation on just peace from 9 to 11 December 2024 in Warsaw, Poland, as part of CEC's Pathways to Peace initiative, and in cooperation with the Polish Ecumenical Council.

This three-day consultation will be guided by the biblical verse, “Let justice roll down like water and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream,” Amos 5:24. 

Participants representing churches across Europe will examine their role in fostering just peace and reconciliation

The consultation will feature perspectives from Ukrainian church leaders, academics and intellectuals, who will engage with emerging European church processes and reflections on just peace. The discussion will explore connections between the Pathways to Peace initiative and the World Council of Churches' ecumenical pilgrimage of justice, reconciliation, and unity. The event aims to initiate dialogue that fosters a renewed understanding of just peace among European churches.
