Rev. Christian Krieger was elected president of CEC at its 2018 Novi Sad General Assembly.

A pastor and theologian from Strasbourg, he has extensive experience with ecumenical, social, and ecclesial engagements. He serves as President of the Protestant Federation of France.

He grew up in Alsace in a Lutheran family deeply engaged with the church. He was educated in Protestant theology with emphasis on history at the University of Strasbourg, France. Married, father of two children, living in Strasbourg, Rev. Krieger is marked by the history of his region and feels deeply a European citizen.
