Representatives of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland visited CEC office

Representatives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland visited Ecumenical Centre in Brussels on 1 February. The visit was aimed at strengthening relations and fellowship.

The group included Archbishop Kari Mäkinen of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and Turku, Bishop Teemu Laajasalo of Helsinki, Rev. Dr Kimmo Kääriäinen, Director for International Relations at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, Rev. Dr Petri Merenlahti, Assistant to the Archbishop and Rev. Lena Kumlin, legal adviser on EU affairs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.

The visit was unique as both the incoming and outgoing church leaders namely Archbishop Kari Mäkinen and Bishop Teemu Laajasalo were present at CEC.

The delegation was received by CEC General Secretary Fr Heikki Huttunen and Doris Peschke, General Secretary of the Churches' Commission for Migrants in Europe.
