The annual Joint Committee meeting of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the Council of European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE) will be held from 5–7 November 2024 in Crete, Greece. 

This year's discussions will focus on evangelisation in an increasingly secular and diverse Europe, along with the challenges of Christian disunity, polarisation, and conflict within European societies. A dedicated session will examine the revised draft of the Charta Oecumenica and consider potential updates.

The committee will also discuss developments within both organisations, continuing dialogue from the previous meeting.

Participants include His Eminence Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, CEC President, and His Excellency Msgr. Gintaras Grušas, Archbishop of Vilnius and CCEE President. Joining them are Rev. Frank Kopania, CEC Vice-President, Rev. Frank-Dieter Fischbach, CEC General Secretary, and Ms Katerina Pekridou, CEC Programme Officer for Theology and Studies.
