Representing millions of active European citizens, European churches look forward to shaping our common future and bringing forth a Christian perspective toward the development of the European project.
The Conference on the Future of Europe is a European Union initiative, aiming to engage people from across Europe to share their ideas and shape their common future through a wide range of debates and discussions. The Conference launched a Europe Day on 9 May 2021 and plans to reach conclusions in guiding the future of Europe by spring 2022.
Churches will participate as distinct key stakeholders, in line with Article 17 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (TFEU), which foresees an open, transparent and regular dialogue between the EU institutions and churches.
