Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, President of the Conference of European Churches (CEC), congratulates Metropolitan Joan Pelushi of Korça on his election as Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania. “We rejoice with you as you assume this sacred responsibility, and we pray for God’s abundant blessings upon your ministry,” said CEC President in a letter to the newly elected church leader.

Archbishop Nikitas affirmed the deep-rooted faith of the Albanian Orthodox community. “We are confident that under your leadership, the Church in Albania will continue to flourish, growing in unity, strength, and love for Christ and one another.”

CEC looks forward to collaboration. “Your leadership will be an invaluable asset not only to the Orthodox Church but to the broader ecumenical movement as well. We trust that, through collaboration and shared vision, CEC and the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania will continue to build bridges of faith, understanding, and cooperation among Christians.”

CEC President assured the Archbishop of prayers and support. “May God grant you wisdom, patience, and strength as you lead the faithful in Albania and beyond.”

CEC represents 115 churches from Orthodox, Protestant, and Anglican traditions across Europe, working to promote Christian unity, peace, and reconciliation.
