The Conference of European Churches (CEC) has launched a new website, offering a fast, mobile-friendly, and accessible online experience for visitors seeking news, information, resources, and networking opportunities within the European church fellowship.

The new website of CEC is a home for the European church fellowship’s online communication, which tells the stories of CEC and its work, and invites visitors to engage.

Launched with a new design and logo, the website’s editing system has been changed to ensure efficient publishing and enhanced security against hacking threats.

Making the life and work of CEC more visible and accessible”

“This is a significant step forward in making the life and work of CEC more visible and accessible to our Member Churches, National Councils of Churches, Organisations in Partnership, and everyone interested in following CEC,” said CEC General Secretary Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen.

“As CEC sharpens its programmatic profile, focusing on dialogue with European political institutions, deepening roots in public theology, the new website will offer space for the latest information about our activities and initiatives, especially leading up to our General Assembly in June,” he added.

Mobile and desktop friendly

The new CEC website is user friendly for all devices.

“With its new look and streamlined structure, visitors to the website will find engaging stories, the latest news, photos, videos, documents, and archives, all of which will help keep European churches updated,” said Naveen Qayyum, CEC Communications Officer. “The new website is also a work-in-progress, and we welcome your suggestions.”

“CEC is moving forward in its work for peacebuilding and reconciliation. In this journey, the CEC website will serve as a key communication tool providing inspiring resources,” Qayyum added.

The new website features a clearly displayed section of the latest news and videos. A special section, devoted to the upcoming CEC General Assembly in Tallinn, will become increasingly populated in the lead-up to the assembly. Another section on churches’ response to the war in Ukraine will continue to relay how CEC is responding. The section includes expressions of ecumenical solidarity among European churches, prayers for peace, and related news.
