“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay,” Matthew 28:6.

In a world marred by conflict, where we strive for peace, Christ’s resurrection brightens our hope.

Even when dialogue for reconciliation comes to a standstill. Even when our Ukrainian brothers and sisters continue to work for the survival of their homeland. When efforts from Western democratic countries are yet to bear fruit. Where weapons are yet to be silenced. Even in such a state, we are accompanied by a striking hope embodied in Christ.

Through the Easter Gospel, God strengthens the hope proclaimed by Christ, for there is no impasse for God.

May the Easter Gospel strengthen our will, and may we work together to overcome despair.

May we move forward in hope.

Christ is risen, He is truly risen!

CEC General Secretary Dr Jørgen Skov Sørensen
