Caring for God’s creation is an integral part of the calling of the churches. How can this be done? The question is explored in depth in the book Every Part of Creation Matters. The book published by the Conference of European Churches (CEC) in partnership with Globethics.net will be launched in an online event on 18 January 2023 from 14:00 – 15:00 (CET). Registrations are open.
Speakers at the event will be:
- Rt Rev. Nicholas Baines, Bishop of Leeds, CEC Governing Board member
- Kees Nieuwerth, Moderator of the CEC Thematic Group on Economic and Ecological Justice and Sustainable Future, one of the editors of the book
- Matthias K. Boehning, World Evangelical Alliance, Permanent Representative to the UN in Bonn, Director of the WEA Sustainability Center
The book offers a summary of studies and discussions among theologians from diverse churches. The first section underlies key theological traditions. The second section features insights into the European Green Deal aiming to transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient, and competitive economy with no net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The text supports the main aim of the Green Deal, however, raises concerns related to some of its principal parts.
Every Part of Creation Matters is available online for free download and in print from Amazon.
